Mixed day in the office for a number of club competitors.
Gary Kiernan and Darren O’Brien pictured here ended the day 2nd two wheel drive car and 13th overall after a tough battle with local ace Kevin Eves and Virginia man Chris Armstrong over the course of the day. Armstrong had to bow out of proceedings when he suffered a mechanical failure on the start line of the final stage.
In class 13 Tim Flood and Anthony Smith finished a tricky day of continuing their learning curve 6th in class and a well deserved 41st overall.
Class 12 saw James Cassidy bring his Pinto powered Escort home guided by Domhnall Lennon with an almost customery at this stage class win and 44th overall beating home a lot of more powerful machinery in the process.
Sean McConnell had his recently built C2R2 out for more shakedown miles in the hills as he finished the day 6th in class and 74th overall.
In the juniors John McCabe navigated Jack McKenna around to a steady 4th in class as he continues to learn his new build aswell.
Finally a huge thanks to the members of the club who volunteered their time and expertise to ensure the rally ran in a safe and efficient way. With the use of their skills and the new tracker system no stage was lost today which was quite then feat in the narrow lanes that made up parts of the stages.
