Dissapointment for Corcoran and Nash in Birr

The Endurance Trial National championship came to a close in the shadow of the Slieve Bloom mountains with the Birr motorclub putting together a challenging event with 20 tests that would take in terrain including farms, forest tracks, fields and quarries.

Starting number 2 on the road would be the previous rounds winner Patrick Corcoran with Ruaidhri Nash hoping to keep up with the notes in the little starlet as they looked for a good result. The day started well with the pair settling into a good pace and after the opening 7 tests they would hold a comfortable 9th overall in the slippery lanes and tests taking their toll on the times.

After the break they began to push on and started to climb the leader board with a spirited drive that saw them claw their way back up to 2nd overall at the finish only to have a clerical error on the part of the Navigator land them with a penalty that saw them plummet back to a disappointing 12th overall.
