Mc Cann takes Banna

Oldcastle’s Stephen Mc Cann took a well deserved and long awaited overall win in the Banna beach in the A Plus skip hire Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9.

Guided by local man Damien Fleming the pair took a commanding start to finish lead in what could only be described as treacherous conditions which caught out number 2 seed Ed O’Callaghan early on in the event. The Evo crew were pushed hard all day by No.1 seed Daniel Cronin in his WRC Subaru with the technology advantage over Mc Cann’s car.

With the battle being furious all day and with the gap never being more than 14 seconds it was a big relief for Mc Cann to cross the finish line of the 6th and final stage to put a shine on what has been a difficult year with a number of good runs being thwarted by mechanical issues.
